PANJIM: The State government is confident Mhadei PRAWAH (Progressive River Authority for Welfare and Harmony) being an independent authority will take the appropriate decision for Goa, said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday.
The Authority has carried out inspection at the right spots, that too in the monsoon as requested by Goa. Karnataka will stand exposed as regards the diversion of the river, Sawant asserted.
PRAWAH will submit its report of the inspection to various authorities including the Government of India, Supreme Court etc, he added. “The very fact that protests have erupted in Karnataka and my photos have been shredded and burnt there, implies that we are on the right track,” Sawant said.
The Authority concluded its six-day inspection along the Mhadei river basin across the three riparian States of Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra.
