Pre-arrest bail plea of main accused in grain scam adjourned

Police has sought dismissal of the applications of Sachin Naik Borkar and Virendra Mardolkar citing their custodial interrogation is necessary to unearth the entire conspiracy

PANJIM: The Sessions Court, Panjim on Monday adjourned the hearing of anticipatory bail applications of main accused in food grains smuggling case, Sachin Naik Borkar and Virendra Mardolkar . The hearing will now be held on November 30. 

The court had earlier adjourned the hearing for the want of the say of the Crime Branch in the matter. The police say was submitted later which had mentioned that the robbed grains indeed was from the Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs warehouses. The police had also sought dismissal of the anticipatory bail applications of Borkar and Mardolkar as their custodial interrogation was necessary to unearth the entire conspiracy that was hatched and to get information on the sales and proceeds of the food grains. 

The Crime Branch officials had raided private warehouses at three different locations in Curti, Borim and Kundai wherein tonnes of grains that reportedly was moved out of Civil Supplies warehouses was seized.
