PANJIM: Revenue Minister Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate on Wednesday reviewed departmental preparedness to switch over to e-stamp regime, which will be executed in the State through Government of India’s Stockholding Company.
Monserrate held meeting with the department officials to deliberate over implementation of Goa E-Stamping Rules 2022, which were framed in May, last year. The rules were formulated to regulate the issuance of e-stamp certificates and to pave the way for online stamp duty collection mechanism.
Speaking to media persons post meeting, Monserrate said that the e-stamping process will bring in more transparency and will be available for the end user 24×7. He said that all the local stamp vendors will be taken into confidence and would be made part of the new e-system.
