President to lay foundation stone for new Raj Bhavan

PANJIM: President of India Ram Nath Kovind will lay foundation stone for the new Raj Bhavan building on June 15. 

This could be Kovind’s last visit to Goa as the President of India before end of his term on July 24. The election to the President post is scheduled on July 18.  

Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai office has clarified that the new building will only be an annexed structure without any changes made to the existing Raj Bhavan structure and will be constructed by the PWD within the premises of the existing facility at Dona Paula.  

The Governor had also clarified that the Central Planning Board funds will be used.
