The SP said, “It is a case where the property is involved which will require a lot of analysis of documents and chain of the movement of the land as well. Once we have enough evidence we will take necessary action.”
“We cannot reveal all the details of the case since the case is still under investigation. We are also verifying the velocity of the information that we are receiving with regards to the case,” the SP said.
The SIT has so far booked unidentified persons for allegedly attempting to grab the ancestral land belonging to Christie Santano Godfrey Fernandes located in Assagao by forging old documents.
It may be recalled that the incident came to light when Christie received intimation from the authorities regarding inventory proceedings. Upon inquiry, he found that an unknown person(s) through Power of Attorney (PoA) filed inventory proceedings with respect to property bearing Survey Numbers 253/3 and 252/3 in Assagao village owned by him and other co-owners. The inventory proceedings were filed prior to July 27 this year and he came to know about it on August 8.
Fernandes immediately filed a complaint via email with the DGP and also to the Chief Minister and the Commissioner for NRI Affairs.
