PANJIM: More than three months after several Goa government websites were hacked, including that of Printing and Stationery department, the latter is yet to restart uploading e-gazettes putting users into severe inconvenience.
The Minister for Printing and Stationery, Milind Naik who has recently taken charge, has said that he has no clue about what is happening in the department as he has taken charge just a week back.
On July 8, it was reported that several state government websites including, Captain of Ports, Goa Tourism and NRI Commission of Goa, Printing and Stationery etc, were compromised and defaced reportedly by a hacker based in Pakistan who uploaded pro-Pakistan slogans instead.
While the websites, including that of Printing and Stationery Department, are up and running and copies of the gazettes continue to be printed, the electronic versions of the gazettes are not being uploaded as they were hacked.
The Printing and Stationery Department used to also send email updates at a minimal fee for those wishing to have e-copies of the gazettes.
“When did I take charge? If you were in charge for so few days would you have known what is happening in the department?” Milind Naik asked this reporter when asked for his comments on the state of the department. It is uncertain when the department will actually get its act together and get the website up and running again.
