PANJIM: After a tough fight in the HCN Goa Quiz Contest, the over one hour quiz saw a clear winner in Pritha Sardessai a Panjim based architect.
She was the first among equals and got the highest of 260 points – from among the four finalists.
The other three finalists were Remedios Fernandes, Oswald Pinto and Sharat Raikar.
The quiz was based on various subjects such as — Goan history, geography, art and culture, statistics and eminent Goan personalities.
Four rounds –two question and answer rounds, rapid fire and fastest finger first, saw the contestants on their toes to answer the questions fielded by Quiz Master Erle Brito.
Pritha Sardessai took an early lead in the first round answering her own questions besides earning marks for the questions passed by other contestants.
Remedios Fernandes and government servant won the second place with 180 points.
First year arts student from Margao Sharat Raiker was in third place with 160 points and the fourth place went to Oswald Pinto ex-Herald employee, who is currently working as an editor in a government department.
Grand prizes which included cookware from Nirlep, gifts from Oh My Goa, vouchers from Baron and Bina Punjani Hair Studio along with certificates were handed over to the finalists by Quiz Master Erle Brito.
