PERNEM: Priti Haldankar was elected unopposed as the new Sarpanch of Khajne-Amere-Poroscodem Panchayat.
A special meeting was called in the Panchayat office for electing a new sarpanch and since Haldankar’s was the lone nomination for the post of Sarpanch, the presiding officer Vijaysingh Shetgaonkar declared Haldankar elected unopposed.
The post of sarpanch was lying vacant for the last 15 days as the then sarpanch Nisha Haldankar had tendered her resignation to pave way for the new sarpanch on mutual understanding among the members.
