PANJIM: Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) has finally got a full-time Superintendent of Police (SP) as the State government has appointed IPS officer Priyanka Kashyap to the post. She replaces SP Bosco George.
George, who had a long stint with ACB, has been asked to report to Police Headquarters till further orders. After being shunted out of the ACB in November 2015 and SP Vimal Gupta thereafter given the charge (before his promotion next year), George was transferred back to the ACB in April 2017. He was, however, given additional charge of FRRO and Special Branch. On November 27, 2015 George was moved out “in public” interest and posted as SP Security and Wireless.
His transfer came after the then Laxmikant Parsekar-government also moved out PI Nolasco Raposo following the arrest of the then CM’s brother-in-law, an officer in GIDC for accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh for handing over possession of an industrial plot.
In the order issued by the Department of Personnel, IPS officer Suman Goyal – who was also awaiting posting – has been given charge as SP of the EOC. CB SP Kartik Kashyap, who was holding addition charge of the EOC has been relieved of this. In a separate order, 2011-batch IAS officer R Menaka has been appointed as the DMA with additional charge of Member Secretary, GSUDA.
