PANJIM:  Goa Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has sought report from its district election officers (DEO) on a complaint filed by social activist Adv Aires Rodrigues against Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and BJP for violating the model code of conduct in organizing public functions in memory of former CM late Manohar Parrikar.
Apart from seeking report from its DEO, both North and South, CEO has also sought to know from General Administration department (GAD) whether any government machinery was used for the events.
Adv. Rodrigues in his complaint on Tuesday had alleged that since the death of Parrikar on March 17, Chief Minister and the BJP were in rank violation of the Model Conduct of Conduct.
He had also drew the attention of the Chief Electoral Officer to the public statement made by Chief Minister that Parrikar’s ‘asthi kalash’ programme will help in BJP’s huge win.
