PANJIM: During the monsoon session of the Rajya Sabha, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Member of Parliament (MP) Sanjay Singh gave a special mention notice to resume mining operations in Goa.
Singh stated that two-third of the State’s employment is directly or indirectly dependent on mining.
He mentioned that the tourism sector had already taken a hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the mining ban has further exacerbated the situation.
Through his notice, Singh urged the government to investigate the matter and resume mining operations in the State at the earliest.
