MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Councillor Mahesh Amonkar has demanded an inquiry against all those political leaders having links with the banned Popular Front of India (PFI).

He pointed out that rumours were being spread by some, pertaining to replacing Pramod Sawant as the Chief Minister.

Welcoming the decision taken by the Central government to ban PFI, Amonkar said that there are many Goan Muslims who are members of the association, but are totally in dark with regard to their activities.

“It is my request to those members of the PFI to help the police in conducting further inquiry, as it is an issue of national security. There are inputs that few political leaders have links with the top leaders of the PFI, and hence there is need to conduct thorough inquiry,” he demanded.

Meanwhile, he also said that many are deliberately spreading rumours about the change in leadership in BJP.
