MARGAO: A group of citizens from Margao called on the Margao Municipal Chief Officer to draw his attention to the critical issues facing the commercial capital and demanded an inquiry into the mess prevailing at Sonsodo.
The group also demanded a long-term city development plan for the town to decongest it from the ever-burgeoning traffic chaos and parking problems.
The delegation comprising former MMC Chairperson Dr Gopal Vaidya, Dr Deepak Kamat, Eng Deep Karapurkar and Sunil Krishnanath Naik submitted a memorandum to the Chief Officer Naveen S L calling for creation of a long-term development plan by involving prominent architects, engineers, environmentalists and people from the tourism and hospitality sectors. The group also called upon the CO to create more innovative systems such as implementation of a single-window system for license applications.
