VALPOI: Locals from Sattari taluka are concerned about the supply of water. This, after it was revealed that there are problems at the Dabose Water Treatment Plant in Sattari, which has affected the smooth functioning of its operation and maintenance works for the last 10 days.
“All the four water filters have stopped functioning and have been left open. Insects are falling in these filters. The water is emitting a very bad smell, “added a staff member, working at the treatment plant, which supplies water to the entire taluka.
“We have already informed all the three chemists who works in three different shifts at the plant. But they are not repairing the water filters and they are also not taking any action. And in return the main chemist is shouting at us,” said a worker.
Besides this, there are many other issues to be solved, added the worker. For instance, the plant motor switch button is not working for the last six months. There are also a total of 15 workers who have reportedly not received their salaries for the last four months.
