PORVORIM: Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar informed the House that nearly 200 to 300 workers at the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) were employed by the previous government on just an application.
He said there were no sanctions, no creation of jobs and no proper procedures followed during recruitment which was done just months before the March 2012 Assembly polls. The Minister was replying to the demand made by opposition MLAs to regularize workers on hunger strike. Tawadkar said that the department has absorbed 48 out of 145 candidates. Parsekar who intervened said the opposition is creating an issue because of the coming Assembly elections.
