PANJIM: Industries Minister Mahadev Naik said that procedures for allotment of plots in industrial estates all over Goa would be completed within two months and scrutiny would be complete within a month.
“The last date for applications for these plots was July 11,” Naik told the House responding to a supplementary question by MLA Rohan Khaunte whether applications for new plots are pending and why and when they would be cleared.
Khaunte also wanted to know whether any new staff would be recruited to cope with the new impetus on industrialization under the new investment policy.
Naik replied that as of now there was no plan for the same, but the IDC chairman would look into it and a decision would be taken.
Khaunte asked if Goa Industrial Development Corporation staff were covered under pension benefits, the details of the staff along with positions held with their qualifications, promotions during the last three years; and details of present status of suspended staff as on date along with their names and posts they are holding.
Naik said that the GIDC employees employed prior to 05/08/2005 are governed under the new State Government pension scheme adopted by the Corporation. Hence 35 employees  recruited after 05/08/2005 compulsorily come under this scheme; IDC has not employed nor promoted any staff during last three years; and Ashok R Shirodkar, Assistant Manager, (suspension is in force for a period of 180 days wef 15/04/2014) and Shaikh Rahid, Field Manager (suspension wef 02/07/2014) were suspended.
