PONDA: Former Goa Dairy Chairman and farmer Anup Desai on Friday claimed that the profit announced by former administrator Durgesh Shirodkar as false and that the Dairy still runs into losses.
Desai along with Sanjeev Cuncolienkar while addressing the press on the backdrop of removal of Administrator Durgesh Shirodkar, claimed that two annual general body meetings (AGMs) are still pending and the account statement are yet to be approved.
“Rs 3.75 crore profit claimed by Shirodkar is false. The account statement has been not been approved by the AGM. Similarly two AGMs are not held. How can he claim profit?” he questioned.
Demanding the government to hand over the position of the Goa Dairy to the farmers, Desai urged to conduct Board of Directors (BoD) election in democratic manner and strengthen cooperative sector.
“The excess staff in Goa Dairy by the government has put financial burden on Goa Dairy, which is already in losses, and would soon become another Sanjivani Sugar Factory”, he claimed.
“Although eight BoD are disqualified by RCS on mismanagement still there are four BoDs and they should be given charge to run the Dairy”, he urged.
