Promotions of officials in various govt depts like Agri, Accounts recommended

panjim: The Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) on Thursday has recommended major promotions in the Directorate of Accounts and Directorate of Agriculture. 

With Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings being held through circulation due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, in a record, GPSC conducted 62 DPC meetings and promoted as well as lifted probation of 178 officers since March. 

In the 12th DPC meeting, six Joint Directors of Accounts were recommended to the government for appointment through promotions. The officers are Sandhya Korde, Eknath Palkar, Sailee Amonkar, Uday Madkaikar, Agnelo Machado and Kisan Gaude . 

GPSC Chairman Jose Manuel Noronha said that the commission also promoted one officer to the position of Superintending Engineer; two officers to the position of Executive Engineers; and one official to the position of Chief Chemist in PWD. 

“In addition to this, we have also recommended the promotion of one officer to the position of Deputy Director of Agriculture; four officials to the position of Assistant Director of Agriculture; and three officers to the post of Agriculture Officers in the Directorate of Agriculture. The period of Probation of 17 Ayurvedic Doctors in the Department of Health Services was also lifted while two officials were promoted to the position of Assistant Information Officers in the Department of Information and Publicity,” he said. 

The positions of Senior Pathologist in DHS and Associate Professor in Pediatric Surgery in Goa Medical College (GMC)  were also recommended to be filled through promotion. 

The commission continues to conduct DPC meetings through circulation in view of the pandemic.
