MARGAO: Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao on Thursday said that the land for the proposed 12-bedded primary health centre (PHC) at Mazilwado-Benaulim belonged to the government and alleged that some vested interest were misguiding the few villagers.
Reacting to the protests by the villagers during demarcation of the land on Wednesday, Churchill said that the land admeasuring 6,800 square metres belonging at the Provedoria has been handed over to the Directorate of Health Services, for upgradation of the existing sub-health centre.
“The proposed PHC at Benaulim is in the government land and we are constructing it for the people,” Churchill said alleging that some vested elements are misguiding the villagers.
“We need a primary health centre in Benaulim village due the current COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.
