PANJIM: Stating that the ongoing demand for political reservation for Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities is politically motivated, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday claimed that his party has made it clear that ST communities will get political reservation in 2027 Assembly elections.
Sawant said that his government is consistently following up on the issue and that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is clear that ST reservation will happen in 2027 Assembly polls. He pointed out that the Delimitation Commission can only be constituted after the Census report.
Meanwhile, the Mission Political Reservation for Scheduled Tribes of Goa in association with 16 ST organisations held protest at Azad Maidan, Panjim on Wednesday evening, demanding reservation for STs in the State Assembly.
