MARGAO: Stating that the third wave of COVID will be more deadly according to the experts, Navelim MLA Luizinho Faleiro urged free and universal vaccination for all.
He said the second wave had a devastating effect which led to the highest deaths. In fact the underbelly, the health sector is very badly exposed with the shortage of beds, oxygen, ventilators, and shortage of everything.
“Now, the expert predicts of the third wave, which will be deadlier than the first and second. All are predicting this third wave will affect more children”, he stated.
MLA informed that he had written South Goa Collector, besides chief minister to provide vaccination for all and to have a universal vaccination policy, so that we can provide vaccines to everybody.
“In my constituency, I had asked for six vaccination centres but got only two. But it is of no use. Today, what is required is a vaccination for the population of 18 to 44 years of age and also vaccinations for children. However, the Government of India has miserably failed to provide vaccines for this age group”, he alleged.
He said it is high time that the government must concentrate on this issue seriously and start vaccinations for all. “But where are vaccines? Why vaccines are not coming?”, he questioned.
