MAPUSA: The Goa unit of Indian Medical Association (IMA) has requested chief minister to make available adequate standardised protective equipment at reasonable prices to the people, through the same source that the government procures them.
The Association also requested CM to provide best protection to members in government service who are fighting against COVID-19.
In a letter to the chief minister, the IMA requested the chief minister to make arrangements for unhindered supply of all the medical items for the staff in private as well as government sectors.
Association pointed out that the truck drivers bringing in supplies from neighboring States needs to be screened at the border posts itself to maintain the safety of the medical staff.
The IMA also pointed that insurance of all the doctors and staff may be extended since even the negative cases are posing even greater challenge and risk to continuation of medical practice for routine ailments.
Association also requested to clear the dues to the hospital which are not cleared for the last six months and is putting financial strain on the treating doctors since the hospitals have continued to provide medical service under DDSY Scheme.
