MAPUSA: Chairman of Fransalian Education Society Fr Jayaseelan Selvaraj, who arrived to address and clear the doubts of the PTA members on Wednesday on the removal of principal and manager of St Thomas Higher Secondary School, Aldona has appealed to the parents, ex-students and villagers to refrain from disturbing the learning environment as it will impact the young minds and malign the name of the institution.
Addressing the media, he said that there was a need to allow the school to function properly as it is a temple of learning.
At the same time he has clarified that both the priests have not been suspended but relieved of the delegated responsibilities for reasons that have been communicated to them.
The appointment of principal was approved on lecture basis could not continue as principal at this juncture for signing official documents of the institution with four full-fledged streams. Hence, he has been requested to come to Pune to plan for his future responsibilities.
“Over the next two weeks, we will collect all the data and set up a strong investigation committee to carry out the inquiry. All the allegations made have to be investigated. As citizens of India, we are bound by the laws in force and hence governed by the Doctrine of Internal Management, Goa School Education Act and Rules of 1984, Constitution of India and our own Congregations Code of Ethics. Hence, the external forces must not interfere in the internal administration of the school management. However, everyone has a right to appeal in the higher systems of judiciary but not through mob mentality,” he said.
“We are here for values. All of us are hurt, but we shall overcome it. An investigation will be done in justice and fairness. It will be befitting that the parents, staff and students understand the efforts of the management for the holistic growth of the institution and oblige,” he added.
While on the other hand, the principal has condemned the decision saying that he has all the proofs to be the principal until 2020.
