PANJIM: PSI Rahul Dhamsekar, caught accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 in August 2013, has been dismissed from service after a departmental enquiry confirmed his guilt.
As per the case details, Dhamshekar, attached to Ponda police station, was caught by the anti-corruption branch (ACB) of Vigilance Department for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 to settle an assault case. The PSI had allegedly demanded 35,000 and that 20,000 was already paid to him.
He was arrested and suspended pending a departmental inquiry, only to be released and reinstated thereafter. Five years after the enquiry, the department has found him guilty of the offence and issued his dismissal order.
