MARGAO: Police Sub Inspector Tejaskumar Naik who was transferred to the reserve police was on Wednesday reinstated with Maina Curtorim Police station and given charge once again of the Rumdamoll police outpost where he was working before he was transferred.
It may be recalled that on March 22 a video showing Tejaskumar assaulting a youngster who was moving on his scooter went viral following which he was transferred to the reserve police and an enquiry was instituted.
Yesterday Shivsagrajya a social organization expressed solidarity with Tejaskumar and urged the Superintendent of Police not to take stern action against him as it would demoralise good and hard working police officers.
Durgesh Shirodkar of the organisation pointed out that sometimes a beating is required to instill discipline amongst youngsters and further pointed out that Rumdamoll is teeming with undisciplined youngsters who most often behave like rowdies.
