PANJIM: Suspended traffic sub inspector Razashad Shaikh, who was arrested in August this year for allegedly raping his niece, was on Wednesday granted conditional bail by the High Court of Bombay at Goa.
Under these conditions the accused cannot visit the native place of the victim till her evidence is completely recorded by the trial court. He was released on payment of personal bond of Rs 50,000 with one local solvent surety of the like amount.
Advocate Menino Teles representing Shaikh pointed out that in her supplementary statement, the victim denied having being raped by the accused and it was due to some personal reason that she attempted suicide.
