PSI shoots self at Pernem outpost

PANJIM: Police sub-inspector Gourish Malik who was recently recruited, shot himself on his chest with his service pistol at Pernem.

PANJIM: Police sub-inspector Gourish Malik who was recently recruited, shot himself on his chest with his service pistol at Pernem. 
According to sources, Malik was recently transferred to Pernem Police Station from Panjim. Malik did not report for work at Panjim regularly, sources added. He was once reported missing for a week. Later, he was traced at Shirdi. 
According to Pernem police station sources, Malik had not reported for work on Saturday and Sunday morning at Nhaibagh Police outpost. He, however, came late on Sunday and shot himself. 
His collegeagues rushed him to Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim. Malik is still unconscious but out of danger. 
Police sources said Malik appeared disturbed for the past few months and probably a personal matter was troubling him, which may have forced him to take this extreme step.
However, a suicide note written by Malik said he was unable to do justice to his job for the past nine months and nobody should be blamed for his suicidal attempt. He had also mentioned that he was stressed out due to professional reasons.
