Pt Hariprasad to perform at BITS

VASCO (HR): Indian classical Maestro Padma Vibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia will perform in the campus of BITS Pilani, Zuarinagar-Sancaole on February 6.

VASCO (HR): Indian classical Maestro Padma Vibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia will perform in the campus of BITS Pilani, Zuarinagar-Sancaole on February 6.
The musical function is organized by Society for Promotion of Indian Classic Music and Cultural Amongst Youth (SPICMACAY).
Chuarasia will be in the State giving performances in Shrimati Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao and later at BITS Pilani, Goa campus.
Chuarasia is internationally known as the greatest living master of Bansuri, the North Indian bamboo flute. He is the most accessible Hindustani musician who has done a lot to popularize Bansuri and classical music among the masses.
He has won a number of prestigious awards including Sangeet Natak Academy (1984), Padmabhushan (1992) and Padma Vibhushan (2000).
The function at BITS Pilani will be presided over by BITS University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr L K Maheswari. Chaurasia will be accompanied by Pandit Yogesh Samsi on Tabla and Sunil Avachat on flute.
