MARGAO: Citizens of Goa, united under the banner ‘Goans Against EVM’ are set to host an awareness program on the risks associated with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). As part of the nationwide campaign against EVM usage in elections, Supreme Court advocate Bhanu Pratap and his team have been invited to demonstrate potential manipulations in EVMs.
The main awareness programme for the general public is scheduled at Lohia Maidan, Margao, on February 2, at 3.30 pm. Adv Pratap, along with D C Kapil, Rajendra Singh, and others, will physically demonstrate how EVM machines can be manipulated, raising questions about the integrity of the election process, said former
Margao civic Chairperson Savio Coutinho, who addressed media persons on Thursday.
Margao local Rama Kankonkar said that Pratap’s team will have media interactions at Vasco, Ponda, Mapusa, and Panjim on February 2 and 3, where the team will discuss EVM manipulation concerns.
The event aims to provide attendees with insights into the potential risks associated with EVMs and the ongoing efforts to address these concerns.
