Vishal Fadte, a local, said that though the KTC bus stand is functional at Shapur Ponda, all the buses stop at the old bus stand which results in a rush of passengers.

He said there is a need to provide at least a temporary facility before closing down the toilet, which was in operation for several years.  This toilet was used daily by several people.  There is an urgent need to have accessible toilets at the much-needed places.

Meanwhile PMC officials said the toilet at the bus stand has been closed due to its deteriorating condition and bio-toilets will be installed soon.  The work of demolishing the old toilet and constructing a new one will start soon.
