PANJIM: The Goa government has appointed the Prestels Company, Pune to probe the root cause of explosion at the Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited, Zuarinagar-Vasco, which killed three workers last month.
Factories and Boilers Minister Nilkath Halarnkar said that the government has appointed Prestels, a company from Pune to find out the cause of the blast at the Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited and to submit the report. “We have asked Prestels to found out the root cause of explosion and to submit the report. No time limit has been given to them,” he said.
The Minister said that the company has been instructed to all necessary measures to avoid such incidents in future.
Three workers were killed in a blast in an under maintenance ammonia tank at the ZACL on May 3. The tragedy had occurred ahead of the shut down for maintenance.
