In a tragic turn of events, a 36-year-old man, Nikhil Khanna, lost his life after a shocking incident at his upscale residence in Pune’s Wanavdi area. The incident unfolded on Friday when an argument between Nikhil and his wife, Renuka (38), took a devastating turn.
According to a senior police officer from Wanavdi Police Station, the dispute arose when Nikhil declined to take Renuka to Dubai for her birthday celebration. The disagreement escalated as Renuka expressed dissatisfaction over not receiving extravagant gifts on her birthday and anniversary. Additionally, she was reportedly upset that Nikhil did not respond favourably to her desire to travel to Delhi for the birthdays of some relatives.
During the heated argument, Renuka, in a fit of anger, punched Nikhil on the nose with such force that it resulted in a broken nose and several broken teeth. The severity of the injury caused Nikhil to lose consciousness, and he began to bleed profusely.
In response to this tragic incident, the police have taken swift action by registering a case against Renuka under IPC Section 302, charging her with culpable homicide. Renuka has been arrested for further investigation into the circumstances surrounding Nikhil’s untimely demise.
