MARGAO: Asserting that he has not at all interfered in the alleged assault incident at Vasco involving his Police Security Officer (PSO), Fisheries Minister Avertano Furtado on Tuesday said that the PSO should not go unpunished if at all he is involved in the incident.
Firmly denying reports that he is interfering in the police investigations in the assault incident at Vasco involving his PSO Ajay Ashok Anandachi and two others, Avertano demanded to know why his name is being dragged into the controversy. “The incident must have occurred when the PSO was off duty. It is his personal matter. If he has done anything wrong, he should not go unpunished. The police are investigating the case, let them complete the inquiry and bring out the truth,” he said. Asserting that he will not interfere in the police investigation, the Fisheries Minister said let the police do their duty and take the investigations to the logical conclusion. “I will not
interfere. Let the police punish the PSO if he has committed any wrong,”
he added.
