PANJIM: The Pernem Police arrested a Punjab native for robbing mobile phones and cash worth Rs 1.40 lakh from a local restaurant.
Unknown accused persons entered into a room of Glam and Grill restaurant situated at Junaswada-Mandrem, through sliding door which was locked from inside. The thieves committed theft of three mobile phones and cash of Rs 79,000, all amounting to approximately Rs 1.40 lakh.
In this connection, the Pernem police during investigation and through technical investigation electronic surveillance (mobile phone) found out that the accused was from Ludhiana, Punjab.
The police later arrested the accused Rahul Tirath Yadav, 22 from Ludhiana, Punjab. Further investigations are on, police said
