Pvt airlines’ ground staff strike, demand pay hike

Vasco: Hundreds of ground staff of a private airlines operating at Dabolim Airport went on strike demanding removal of duty manager and hike in their monthly salary.  

On Tuesday, as many as over 200 ground staff working for private airlines went on strike with their demand to increase in their monthly salary and removal of a duty manager.

Ground staff informed the media persons that they have been working for this airline company for few years and they have not got a salary hike. 

They also complained that the salary which they get is insufficient for survival considering the house rent, household expenses, educational fees of the children etc.

The workers also alleged that that despite several requests, the duty manager had asked them to resign from the job. 

The workers also warned that until their salary is not hiked they will not work.
