VASCO: The PWD engineers have embarked on a physical fault finding exercise following complaints by the residents of Velsao that they were facing water shortage for the last one month.
The PWD executive engineer VishwambarBhende andassistant engineers NareshPainginkar and Mohan Naikinspected various areas of Velsaovillage to find faults in water supply pipelines and whether they was any issue of low water pressure. Cortalim MLA Anton Vas was also present.
Vas said that for the last three days PWD engineers are physically checking the entire water supply pipeline to rectify the fault. He said that the residents had also submitted a memorandum to him, complaining about water problems faced by them.
PWD executive engineer Bhende said that they have been trying their best to find the root cause of the issue and ensure that the people receive water supply. He said that the engineers have checked all the valves, tapping points, plugged all the leakages and low pressure problems but still water supply was not normalised.
Bhende said that since Velsao was receiving water supply from Seraulim, the engineer would now check the area so that the actual fault is found and rectified. He pointed out that sometimes water supply gets affected due to blockages caused due to penetrating of roots of trees.
