PWD Min assures to complete Margao sewerage work soon

MARGAO: PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar on Tuesday assured of a solution to the overflowing sewage in a field behind the KTC bus stand, here.

There were complaints from the people of the area regarding the sewage flowing in open and emitting foul smell in the locality.

Former MLA of Fatorda Damu Naik called on the PWD Minister after the locals of the area complained of the sorry plight of overflowing sewage and also foul smell emitting from the same. The PWD Minister informed that the pending sewerage work will be reviewed and will be set into motion.

“We have set a deadline of completing the works of sewage-related in Margao by December but we will be able to finish it much sooner,” he said.

When asked about the North Main Sewage Line, Pauskar said, “I will call on the contractor engaged by the Sewerage and Infrastructural Development Corporation of Goa Ltd (SIDGCL) and ask him to start the work immediately to complete the North Main Trunk.”

The North Main Trunk which takes sewage to the plants in Shirvodem-Navelim had some problem in front of the District Collectorate South Goa and is the responsibility of the contractor now to restore after correcting it.
