sanguem: PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar on Wednesday visited Shri Chandreshwar Reserve Police Force Camp at Kharkhatiaghati Sanguem. This was against the backdrop of the Sanguem police Station being demolished as it makes way for its new building that will be constructed.
Here, he ordered for immediate repairs of some quarters, which are in a dilapidated condition, in order to house the Sanguem Police Station for a temporary period.
Pauskar was accompanied by former Sanguem MLA Subhash Phal Desai, Superintendent of Police (SP) Dharmesh Angle KP, Deputy SP Kiran Paudwal, Sanguem Police Inspector Sachin Panhalkar, IPRB Central Inspector Gonu Gawde, Rivona ZP Member Suresh Kepekar and others.
Pauskar told the PWD Officials to immediately repair two quarters on urgent basis to shift the Sanguem Police Station as it may be ordered to be shifted at any time.
Sources at Sanguem Police Station informed that they had sought a total number of nine quarters considering the strength of workforce at Sanguem Police Station which numbers 22. Pauskar also asked the PWD officials to explore the feasibility of repairing some more quarters in the course of time.
Presently the Sanguem Police Station is housed in an old house, which is susceptible to leakages during monsoon.
