PWD Min trying to malign my image, Art Min alleges

Says not bothered of MGP’s supporters’ 4-day ultimatum to CM; Challenges them to launch morcha on his residence demanding his resignation

PONDA: Playing down the reports appearing in a section of the media alleging that he used abusive language against PWD Minister Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar, Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude on Saturday said that there is no truth in the reports published by the two Marathi dailies.
Addressing media persons, Gaude accused the PWD Minister of being hand in glove with editors and reporters of the two dailies by trying to malign his image for vested interests due to development work he (Gaude) has undertaken in Priol constituency.
He said he is not bothered of MGP’s supporters’ 4-day ultimatum to Chief Minister and challenged them to launch  a morcha on his residence demanding his resignation from the Cabinet.
Gaude questioned whether MGP supporter Narayan Sawanth and Congress supporter Sunil Kavtankar, who had levelled allegations against him for using abusive language against Dhavalikar, were present for Cabinet Meeting.
He  said  there is no truth in allegations published in the two Marathi newspapers and termed them as one-sided. He said instead these newspapers should report on corruption by politicians.  He accused some Marathi daily editors and the reporters of being jealous of his work  and allergic to his surname.
He accused Dhavalikar of being hand in glove with these editors and reporters for his vested interest by trying to divide the society through these newspapers to malign his image because of development work undertaken by him in Priol constituency.
He questioned the editors of these dailies whether they have  appointed special  reporters to cover cabinet meetings.
Gaude said he is now in Government because of his good work undertaken for past 20 years and cautioned the editors against dividing people by publishing false news.
Govind Gaude said he supported Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar-led Government on the condition that nobody would interfere in his Priol constituency and alleged that today PWD Minister has started to do so in Priol. Other hand, the people of Dhavalikar’s constituency are facing water shortage and struggling for to meet their daily water needs.
He said, “Dhavalikar is now in politics as a result of my campaigning for him during the 1999 election but now he has backstabbed me.” Gaude said, “Nobody can suppress my voice as I am working in the interest of Bahujan Samaj.”
He advised the PWD Minister to follow the Constitution and behave in a good manner.
Gaude said, “I know the Constitution and people also know my character. I never try to divide the society to win election.”
