PWD relieves Pondaitees from pothole-ridden roads

PONDA: Pondaitees, who were struggling negotiating pothole ridden roads across the town, endured back pain, neck problem for their bumpy ride heaved a sigh of relief on Wednesday as PWD has started levelling roads, filling up potholes.

Social worker Hanumant Naik said it’s almost four years the bikers were majorly suffering the bumpy ride; many even met accident, endured injuries, vehicle damage riding through pothole ridden roads in the town. He said most of tender for roads were issued but works were pending due to incomplete sewerage work. However, at many places the sewerage work is completed and roads dug for sewerage chambers are filled and repaired with cold bitumen. “As works of repairing potholes have started, Pondaitees hope that roads would get hot mix carpeting soon. MLA Ravi Naik had continuously conducted follow up with PWD,” said the social worker

Pothole-ridden roads have become a hot topic for Opposition parties. They had even organised photography competition on pothole ridden roads.
