PWD repairs potholed Bethora road after police complaint

Though the pothole is repaired, the 3 km stretch of road is in darkness and locals demanded that streetlights be installed immediately.

PONDA: After a high drama and a police complaint, the PWD officials swung into action and repaired the huge pothole on the road along the Amigoes Bethora junction.

It may be recalled that after two bikers were seriously injured as they fell into the huge pothole, social activist Virai Sapre filed a police complaint against the authorities for criminal negligence.  Sapre also thanked the Herald for highlighting the issue.

The PWD is in process of handing over the stretch of road to NH, however at present with lack of clarity who should repair the potholed, both the departments

tried to pass the buck.

Immediatly after a police complaint was filed, both the departments coordinated with each other and the dangerous pothole was repaired much to the relief of locals.
