MAPUSA: Public Works Department on Thursday restored water supply to parts of Bardez.
It may be recalled that there was a major shortage of water to parts of Bardez taluka during the last three to four days due to the failure of transformer at Assanora Water Treatment Plant. In this regards the department has also issued a public notice.
Taking cognizance of the water failure issue, the Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira visited the plant to understand and see the exact cause of the failure of water supply.
MLA said that the pump at the Assnora plant have to be refurbished to ensure proper water supply to Bardez
Ferreira said,” I visited the plant site to understand and see what is the issue. We seen the whole plant and have note down the points. We will forward a proposal to government and expertise it because there is need for water and we cannot leave it pending”.
We walked through entire plant and distribution pumps. There was a problem of transformer. It’s a system and I am not blaming anyone but we need to make sure that people get water. There is need to revamp the system”, Ferreira said.
