PONDA: Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho on Tuesday slammed the Opposition for bringing in obstacles in the proposed development works saying that they have no other agenda.
He said, “While the whole world including Goa is fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic, the Opposition and the locals should support the government to stop the rise of COVID cases.”
He appreciated the Chief Minister and Health Minister’s contributions in fight against COVID and alleged that the Opposition is criticising good work of the government.
“We must learn to live in COVID pandemic by observing the guidelines of the government including social distancing and compulsory wearing of face masks,” he added.
He was speaking while inaugurating the Tivrem-Orgao Village Panchayat office located in Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) bus stand complex, at Marcel.
Godhino said, “The government is considering the demand of the locals to waive off the rent of the panchayat office situated in the KTC bus stand complex.”
He was speaking with the reference to Tivrem Orgao-Panchayat’s opposition to the rent charged for its office premises claiming that the KTC bus stand is built on the land owned by the panchayat.
Co-operation Minister and local MLA Govind Gaude, local Sarpanch Unnati Naik, panchas and the government officials were present.
Meanwhile, Co-operation Minister Govind Gaude was furious over his rival politicians for obstructing the inauguration function and challenged them to criticise with proper written and documentary evidence.
He mentioned that the panchayat body has worked hard for the Project.
