Margao: Even as Chinchinim Deussua Sarpanch Inacina Rebello dashed of an e-mail to the Prime Minister over Goans stranded overseas on vessels and land, Carmona Sarpanch Allwyn Jorge, Velim Sarpanch Savio D’Silva and Rivona Sarpanch Surya Naik wrote to the Chief Minister urging him to expedite the process of bring back the stranded seafarers.
Inacina, who had earlier written to the CM over the matter, asked the PM about the welfare and condition of the stranded seafarers and pointed out that a large of number of people from her village are working on cruise as well as cargo vessels. She asked the PM’s intervention in resolving this matter as the family members of the stranded people including those working on land in foreign countries, are getting worried.
Carmona Sarpanch Allwyn Jorge added that the stranded Goans have to be brought back as soon as possible and pointed out that the family members at Goa are very tense and many do not even sleep in the night. He added that he is writing the letter on behalf of the panchayat and villagers.
Velim Sarpanch Savio D’Silva also asked about the well-being of the seafarers and pointed out that many people from his village are working on cruise as well as cargo vessels and urged the CM to arrange their return home before the situation goes out of hand.
Rivona Sarpanch Surya Naik also dashed a letter to the CM asking him to expedite the process of bringing back home the stranded seafarers and said he was appealing on behalf of the entire Rivona panchayat.
