QUEPEM: Opposition Leader and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat on Sunday visited Ramesh Naik’s residence, at Deulmol, to provide moral support over the Saturday’s incident wherein Naik was allegedly blocked by the BJP workers at the Deputy Collector’s Office while going to file nomination for the Quepem Municipal Council elections.
The Quepem Block Congress is on its toes to give a straight fight in the civic elections. Kamat made it a point to visit Ramesh and his family to provide a moral support on Saturday’s incident, where the family was totally demoralised.
After the incident, Ramesh’s older family members asked for support of Quepem Congress Block President Manuel Colaco, member Elton D’Costa and Kamat.
Kamat said, The State Election Commission should take cognisance of this incident and act quickly to keep people’s faith in democracy because everyone has seen the video, which is viral on the social media.”
