CURCHOREM: Thousands including children flocked to Quepem to get the glimpse of carnival float parade, on Sunday evening.
The float parade organised by Quepem Carnival Committee in association with Department of Tourism was flagged off by National Award winning Bollywood Actor Nana Patekar in the presence of Quepem MLA and Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar, Water Resources Minister Filipe Neri Rodrigues, Cuncolim MLA Clafasio Dias, Quepem Municipal Council Chairman Dayesh Naik, Organising President Sanzil D’Costa, Walter Menezes, Zilla Parishad members, councillors and panch members. David Fernandes was the King Momo while Queen by Saviana Fernandes.
Among 62 floats, “Adle Xetkar, Adle Podder, Sao Joao” in traditional and “Goenche Vauradi” in club category were main attraction among other floats participated depicting Goan tradition and conveying various public interest messages.
