CURCHOREM: Quepem Municipal Council (QMC) temporary shifted the market at the new site and declared open by the Quepem MLA and Opposition Leader Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar on Sunday.
To carry out the demolition work of old municipal building which was in dilapidated condition, the market is shifted at the temporary site along the main road going to Ambaulim from Quepem and on the plot allotted by the Quepem Urban Co-Operative Society around 200 meters away from the main market.
After declaring the market open, Kavlekar informed that a new building consisting of ground-plus four floors is coming up in the market complex where the ground floor will be allotted to fish vegetable and other vendors. “The existing lease holders will be house at the second and third floors and on the top floor a hall is planned, ” he said.
