MARGAO: The Additional District and Session Judge Margao on Thursday acquitted Shahidad Shaikh, resident of Muslim Waddo, Quepem arrested by Quepem police in connection with death of his wife.
Police had registered an offence against Shahidad under Section 306, 304 (b) and 498 (a) of IPC.
As per complaint lodged by victim’s mother, the accused Shahidad and husband of Asifa Shaikh of Muslim Waddo, Quepem subjected her daughter to mental harassment, assault and torture that she committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence.
