MARGAO: With the safety of the shed housing the non-functioning waste treatment plant at Sonsoddo at risk, questions have been raised over the delay in repairing the wall of the shed.
While one portion of the wall had collapsed on March 26, 2022, another portion had collapsed on Thursday.
However, according to the officials at the Margao Municipal Council (MMC) they are yet to receive the financial approval from the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) to carry out the reconstruction work of the first wall that had collapsed in March.
Following the second incident, MMC Chairperson Lyndon Pereira had stated that the council will be writing to the DMA again for financial approval to carry out the repair work of the second wall. Questions have also been raised by the residents as to what happened to the series of decisions that were taken by the government to resolve the issue.
