PONDA: The Queula (Kavlem) gram sabha on Sunday unanimously resolved to construct a room for village senior citizens for recreational purpose.
“A villager during the gram sabha proposed to construct recreational centre for senior citizens. The panchayat through an NGO will work out modalities and make available one room for the purpose,” informed Queula Sarpanch Rajesh Kavlekar.
“A decision was also taken to spent Rs 20 lakh from the panchayat fund on developmental works in the all the wards,” added Kavlekar.
The gram sabha passed another resolution requesting the panchayat to conduct a medical camp after every three months in the village. The villagers during the gram sabha passed a resolution congratulating the panchayat for handling the pre-monsoon works effectively. The panchayat was congratulated for awarding scholarships and distributing school uniforms to the needy students in the village.
About 50 residents were present for the gram sabha.
